Veena,
I tried mixing postgres 9.3.4 with MADlib 1.5.
The madpack utility told me that MADlib only works with postgres 9.2.
So I spent 2 minutes to remove 9.3.4 using yum on centos.
Then I spent 5 minutes to install 9.2.8 using yum on centos.
Then madpack worked perfectly.
If were using a mac the first thing I would do is install the emacs editor.
This editor makes it easy to both run shells and edit files on linux hosts on my WAN or LAN.
Then I would install Centos on nephoscale or inside of a VM on my mac.
I have a friend who uses a mac VM called parallels.
I'm curious if you would like parallels?
