ICYMI, Atlanta is hiring a Chief Bicycle Officer!

Did you hear the big news that the City of Atlanta is hiring a Chief Bicycle Officer! This person will be key to continue to make Atlanta grow as a bike-friendly city!

For the last three years, ABC has worked with multiple stakeholders to broker a deal for the creation of a Chief Bicycle Officer for the City of Atlanta. This is a huge win for the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and for the future of biking in Atlanta!

This position would not be possible without a generous grant from the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation (AFYF).  Thanks to AFYF and people like you, the Chief Bicycle Officer position will be funded for five years for the City of Atlanta. Read the press release from the city.

Do you fit the job description? Know someone who does? Apply!

Thanks for making a great Bike Month!

May is winding down, and we want to thank everyone who participated in Bike Month events! Year after year, we love celebrating the simple freedom of a bicycle and connecting with others in bike communities around Atlanta.

Many thanks to all our volunteers, supporters, and partners who made it another great May! We hope you'll continue to make everyday Bike Day throughout the year!

Atlanta is #EverydayBiking: Join us next Thursday!

We know everyday biking is on the rise in Atlanta.

Many people are hitting the streets of Atlanta on two wheels, commuting, running errands and socializing to prove it. Bike share is just around the bend and new bike lanes are being built.

Now that People for Bikes has declared 2015 the year of everyday biking with their search for the nation’s casual biking capital, we have an opportunity to do just that!

Each month on the last Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, ABC will be counting the number of people on bikes on the 10th Street protected bike lane. It’s a friendly competition against other U.S. cities to see which one emerges as America's best for everyday cycling.

This month's theme is "Baskets, Racks and Flower." Bust out your bike, pack some flowers and join us this Thursday, April 30th!
