5MATT
By matt s
First of all it came in 3 days 5 days before i was expecting it. This M416 shoots about 340 fps and has a decent rate of fire. The body is made out of plastic but feels very sturdy. the sights are great for shooting. the only suggestion i would make is to get another magazine with the gun. It hold around 250. i would suggest getting the 5000 round magazine($17 plus shipping) and a forgrip.

Here is a link for a grip(around $7)
UTG Deluxe Ergonomic Foregrip, Black

4Umarex HK416 (Model 2279042) Mid-level AEG Review
By v4vendetta
I purchased this gun about a week ago on here refurbished, which I took for Very Good to Like New condition and was not disappointed at what I received. Firstly, off the shelves, this gun is packaged in clear plastic with manuals and a mid cap 200 round magazine. I received mine in a box for another AEG that was reversed and stamped with all the shipping details. For the most part, the box was solid which is a plus for the seller's packaging.

Fresh out of the box, there were some scuffs and deep scratches in some parts of the gun (mostly the receivers) and even some dust covered spots. This was the gun I received anyhow.

Okay, I will begin by listing out the construction of the various parts of the gun and later, some of the features it boasts. I received this gun today and brought it out to a natural CQB field for testing and it held out pretty strongly against some of my friends' guns!

CONSTRUCTION:
- Polymer Plastic Upper and lower receivers.
- Plastic RIS system/ rails.
- Plastic Stock with plastic butt cover.
- Plastic Handle
- Plastic charging handle
- Plastic Forward Assist and dust cover (The dust cover has a metal spring)
- Plastic External barrel
- Plastic Gearbox (Viewed from inside the magazine well)
- (Here comes the good parts!) Metal internal barrel
- Metal Fire Selector Switch
- Metal Trigger
- Metal magazine release button.
- Metal Front and Rear Flip up sights (Rear sights are mounted directly on the upper rail and can be removed)
- Metal 250 round magazine
- Metal parts at the front of the barrel (not the barrel itself)
- Metal sling catches on the front and back. Ambidextrous. The sling catch at the back of the gun is freely suspended and can pivot left and right as well as turn 360 degrees.

So as I was pleasantly surprised, this gun has a very good mix of metal and plastic parts, including the sights which I took as cheap plastic in the picture.... but no.... these are excellent ironsights that I plan to keep attached on the gun for backup after I install a RDS. The magazine is also metal, but if you're planning on going all out with full-auto a backup magazine or multiple speedloaders is recommended. I've found that the scroll wheel on the bottom of this magazine is actually rather quiet which is useful for stealthy tactics.

Now onto some of the gun's features:

FEATURES:
- Charging handle does pull back and opens the dust cover to the shell ejection port in which a plastic cog lies. This can be tweaked to change the HOPUP (the upwards and downwards spin of the BB) by turning forward for UPspin And downwards for DOWNspin. The dust cover must be manually closed after that, in other words, it does not blowback.
- Selector switch has a safety which locks the trigger, a single fire semi auto mode, and fully automatic mode (have not tested the semi auto since I brought this out on a 40 minute charge. I would recommend firing in short bursts to conserve energy.
- 8.4V split nunchuck battery. This goes in the stock of the gun. The buttstock comes off by sliding downwards. Changing extra batteries on the field should be a breeze.
- Ghastly orange tip covers most of the visible external barrel including the flash hider.
- Mag well is stamped with the red HK logo and is written "HK 416 caL. 6mm BB" and the magazine release is stamped with a unique(?) serial code. This adds to much of its authenticity!
- The manual says it is 340fps with .12g BBs, but that doesn't necessarily mean heavier BBs are worthless. On a 2 hour charge, this gun fires .20g BBs through cardboard seamlessly. Mentally, I'd clock this gun at the upper 200s to low 300 fps (My guess is 325 maximum with .20s and 275 at lowest during which a dud shot launches a BB that sticks out partly from the cardboard target) which is perfect for most CQB matches.

Now, hopefully you have a better view on what the gun is like. Since it is mostly plastic, it is extremely lightweight but sturdy. It measures a little more than 30 inches and can be quickly adaptable between long ranged battles and CQB. Finally, I will voice my opinion on this gun and end this review with closing remarks.

PROS:
- Lightweight, sturdy and real to size.
- Licensed by HK. Very authentic.
- Many working mock parts like the forward assist and the charging handle--- a haven for replica lovers and movie producers.
- Metal magazine and sights are probably the best part of this gun.
- It's an airsoft HK416. Go crazy!

CONS:
- Large obnoxious orange tip.
- Okay, I'll admit it. I managed to break the forward assist after pulling on it. It fell out (along with a small spring) with barely any force exerted and is not going to stay (two small pieces of plastic that clamps it to the body of the gun snapped off). I applied some super glue and it holds up well, but I will no longer be able to push it like a button anymore.
- Lack of accessories like a sling. I attached a foregrip to it and I'd recommend the same to anyone else who purchases this gun.
- Plastic body feels dry and a bit on the cheap side.

To conclude, this gun is an excellent entrance and intermediate gun for airsoft players. Obviously, it is not the best out in the market, but at bare minimum, this gun is an essential for starters of airsoft. It is easy to maintain, the sights are incredibly accurate and operating this gun -- anyone can do it.

I hesitated to buy this gun at first after scouring the net for the scant reviews out there. There is a very similar model to this gun also manufactured by Umarex and licensed by HK to bear the HK416 trademark however that gun is a different story-- it is a $400 gun and has improved specifications.

I am also confused by what many people criticize this gun for: its low fps and weak handling which I have found to be untrue. Yes, experienced players may not like this gun for its incompetence to Echo1s, KWAs and G&Gs, it will at least put you on the level of most rental AEGs and shotguns out there (not to mention 60% of airsoft guns out there consisting of springers, shotguns, Mini-smg Aegs, low and lower-mid level AEGs).

This gun is more specifically the "Umarex 2279042 HK416 AEG Blk Electrc" or as I refer to it as the model 2279042 so as to not confuse it with its more expensive version.

I hoped this review is as thoroughly as it could be and the insight I leave you with can assist you in your decision to purchase this gun.

5Great EAG Rifle!
By Alex
Rifle shoots great. Price range is fair for the branding and style,
I upgraded my rail systems with metal Blackhawk¡ rails.
I also added a Bushnell AR/.233 scope. I got the 416 in black and decided to do a little paint job to make it unique on the field. I will upload some shots of it.
After cleaning out the stock grease and adding some new 100% Silicon grease the rifle shot smoother and further . I also purchased a slightly stronger battery to rais the ROF. All in all this makes for a perfect backup rifle or secondary for a sniper!
