Best replica HK416 Airsoft AEG

I had heard a few remarks about the Umarex/VFC AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) version of the Heckler & Koch HK416. Given that everywhere else the product was overpriced and I had an Amazon GC I purchased it. It came through from Pyramyd Air about a week FedEx Home Delivery. Let me say it is possibly the best AEG I have owned. The detail is FIRST rate and the operation is amazing, out of the box it fires ~350 FPS 18 RPS of 0.2g BBs. It is solid and balanced just the real HK416. My only issue I had was after a few dry firings the gearbox pin slipped out, I put it back in but it would continually slip out during usage. I shipped the AEG back to Pyramyd (prepaid) and they sent me a new AEG. And this one is functioning the same as my original but without the gearbox pin falling out. OUt of all the AEGs I own this is by far my favourite.

Pros:
Solid build (wobble in magwell and stock)
probably THE best airsoft replica of ANY gun out there (with the exception of the warnings)
high rate of fire (i got about 26 rps with a 9.6v)
battery compartment wont pop off during a skirmish (most crane stocks do)
comes with very accurate mp5 styled sights (i can nail a target about 10"x12" 150 feet away 10/10 times)
metal flashhider which you wont have to discard after removing (it was glued on tightly)
Full metal magazine
full metal upper reciever
full metal lower receiver
very durable polymer stock
rubber buttplate on the stock (very soft)
Cons:
the magazine is a windup mag that requires a separate tool.
the buttstock wobbles too much and makes me shoot off once in a while
the magazine wobbles ALOT and really messes me up in skirmishes (i mostly play at an indoor facility and is really quiet. footsteps could give away where you are)
i didnt
realize it doesnt come with batteries considering the 450 price tag, but most high end airsoft aegs dont come with it anyways.
the tip was glued on way too tight. i needed a blowtorch to melt the glue off.
the grip was too rough. i fixed that with sandpaper.
Overall, this gun is amazing. The pros outweigh the cons by alot, and if youre looking for a gun that looks and feels realistic, and dont mind paying couple hundred for it, this is the gun for you.

Very Pleased

I'll preface this review with the fact that it's my first and only airsoft rifle. The fit/finish on this rifle out of the box is impeccable. Yes the rifle is expensive but I feel like you're getting what you paid for. The stock sights are OK for static target shooting, but for quicker target acquisition I would recommend a red dot sight so you can keep both eyes open. The intended purpose of this rifle is for CQB but I wouldn't doubt it would also make a decent field rifle. From 30' away I'm easily able to pick off soda cans. From 100' away it's accurate enough to land shots on a 12' x 18' silhouette target. Being a big fan of Magpul products, I also ordered the similarly priced Mil-Spec Monkey PTS M4 and the 416 easily outperforms this particular M4. The 416 shot very accurate with .20g and .28g BBs while the MSM M4 had relatively poor accuracy with .20g BBs from 100'. I had issues using the .28g BBS with the MSM M4, after a few rounds of firing the BBs would only go
about 20' and I had to drop the magazine and reinsert it before I could fire again. Also, while the MSM M4's safety selector is in fact ambidextrous, it didn't click into position when cycling between the safe/semi/full. The safety selector on the 416 is rock solid and firmly clicks into all 3 positions. The 416 includes a metal hi-cap magazine with a feed door and rather than a winding wheel it includes a small wrench/key which can be a pro or con depending on how you look at things. It won't accept the Magpul P-mags like the MSM M4 includes, but I've heard e-mags and various other M4 magazines will work. The only drawback I've found is that the Magpul ASAP sling plate adapter won't fit. I've emailed Magpul to find out if the PTS version will fit but haven't heard back. I don't know what else to say at this point other than I'm really pleased with the rifle. I'd be happy to provide any additional information if anyone has questions.
