Jim,
Michele and I owned a 36CC, nice boat. it depends on the use of the boat. I found the aft stateroom inconvienent. i had to make an insert to make the bed bigger to sleep together. Since it had no a/c it was just easier to sleep apart. I also had to make a special pin for the bottom of the in mast main. As you tighten the out haul the clew hook deforms and will stop the mast furler from rolling, other than the fact you need a hurrican to make it move in the water, it was a great boat. my suggestion is to go strait to the 42CC 100 times the boat.

Well IMHO a aft cockpit boat is a superior sailor overall and our Oc-400 is for sale (Miami)  if you are interested.... it has more bells and whistles and upgrades than most boats costing 10x more see attached if you are interested a well maintained upgraded very solid boat... the original model of the line of 400, 411, 423 and 473 which was really a great line of solid modern boats.

If the mast was US-spar/Z-spar in-mast furler design, they made a change
to fix that problem sometime in the 2008/2009 range. It's basically an
additional bolt-rope slot going _down_ from the feeder to the tack
shackle. Our 2009 B31 had the updated mast, but the old sail. We had
problems furling the first season. Then Neil Pryde retrofitted the sail
and we've had no trouble since.

It looks like it could be added after the fact, but I don't know if they
offer a retrofit for the mast.

I would only consider a CC for lengths above 45 feet.

PS - 361 aft cockpit is a great boat - owned one for a few years.

I think this is a good idea. Perhaps 42' would be OK for CC but much better at 45'. Being higher increases the motion of folks in the cockpit and that sucks unless you don't mind being tossed around a bit more than those a few feet lower. On the other hand being midships gives less up and down movement. Is it a wash? Test it out.

What i a;ways like about the center cockpits, is you can walk around the deck, grab dock lines from the stern. You van work on the end of the boom. without taking the bimini down, when you drive a 42 to the dock it is more like docking a 28 footer, cause 14 feet are behind you.
Juat sayin.

Hello,

I am looking to install a washdown pump in my 361 (2002) with hose terminating in the anchor locker for cleaning anchor and chain.

Have already run the hose forward to below the anchor locker and looking for suggestions regarding path for the hose from there to a suitable location in the anchor locker where I can install a coupling/connector. The forward cabin wood panels are caulked in place so prefer not to remove any more than necessary while looking for a path and doing the installation.

If memory serves me correct we ran the water line along the starboard side of the vessel in the same area as the wires for the anchor winch . There should be a wooden panel at the end of the bunk that can be easily removed with a few screws. This is the access to the windless motor. Install a bulkhead connector to the anchor locker here.

Thank Lynn - will look at that route for the washdown hose this weekend.
