Hello,

I own a Oceanis 361 and, one of the plastic tips on the port genoa rail has come off.  It has no other purpose than tapering the end of the rail so things don't get caught in it, still very useful :)  So I ordered another one from Beneteau, but now, I can't figure out how to remove the screw that held the previous one.  Seems that it turns freely.  Anybody knows how to get that out?

Thanks for any tips!

If memory serves me correct it may be a bolt with a nut on the end. Have replaced mine a couple of times. On the inside is there not a wooden panel that can be removed to gain access to the inside.

Salut Mathieu

I think the primary reason for the end caps are to keep the car from coming off the rail.

I spent a weekend tracking down a water leak that ended up being the loose end cap on the starboard rear rail. The screw was loose and not holding the cap.  The sealant was all that was still holding it. That may be all that is holding yours too. Silicone is hit and miss but can be quite tenacious at times so try gently prying around the cap and it should come off.

Yes that is correct as well. Access is via removing the trim panel or holding tank cover, I can't remember which and I'm not at the boat right now.  Although in our case as my partner just reminded me there was no nut on the bolt on the underside, just more silicone.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll look for the access panel this weekend.
