We've merged the 0.7 branch into the master branch of Beaker. It's not 100% ready for release, but you can clone it now to preview the updates.
Major changes:
- New UIs in the Browser shell and in the builtin pages
- A switch to the new Dat protocol, which has big performance improvements and a more featured protocol (versions, file deletion)
- Better OS integration: you now put saved/created dats in folders on your OS, and have a git-like staging area for doing work and publishing
- Basic P2P analytics (number of peers and peer history for the past hour)
- More Web Platform support (window.prompt, onbeforeunload, custom context menus)
- Better onboarding (still in progress, currently disabled)
- And plenty of bugfixes
Deprecations:
- Bkr commandline tool
- IPFS support
We'll post more soon about what this new version includes and why it took 3 months.
