Till the last login since installation(1 year back) nfs mount was working fine and suddenly it started to hang and give the following message after some time
mount.nfs: Connection timed out

I was using the same command which I used to use ' mount -t nfs 192.168.7.1:/folder_address /mnt'

can any one suggest me a solution please?

Yeah, check your NFS server and make sure everything is operational. Also make sure the BBB's IP matches that which is listed in /etc/exports on the NFS server.

NFS server is working fine with same settings since long and I've checked them again, they are fine. BBB's ip is in the range defined by /etc/exports /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny. The settings are fine and it suddenly started giving trouble since yesterday.

Solved !!
I was playing with ufw (firewall) in the server. Now it is up and working.
