I can verify that this blogspot link from Alex works like a charm. Had an issue after installing mysql5 package on systemd-image and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks!

Hi there,
I have had similar problem when adding "mysql5" package to "systemd-image". The problem, debugging and resolution are described here. I've just try to use "console-image" instead of "systemd-image" and can reproduce the same problem you describe. It seems that there is a conflict between legacy SystemV initialisation scripts used by some packages and SystemD used by the Angstrom distribution and some services are not started. After quick analysis I found out that if you remove "/etc/rcS.d/S39alsa-state" link you will be able to login properly. Hope it helps.

Regards,
Alex

Hi guys,

I've got a problem after creating an 2012-05 bootable sdcard.
I've went through these steps:

 git clone git://github.com/Angstrom-distribution/setup-scripts.git
 cd setup-scripts
 MACHINE=beaglebone ./oebb.sh config beaglebone
 MACHINE=beaglebone ./oebb.sh update
 MACHINE=beaglebone ./oebb.sh bitbake virtual/kernel
 MACHINE=beaglebone ./oebb.sh bitbake console-image
 MACHINE=beaglebone ./oebb.sh bitbake meta-toolchain

created an sdcard with a boot(FAT32 flags: boot,lda) and rootfs(EXT4) partition.

Extracted /build/tmp-angstrom_v2012_05-eglibc/deploy/images/beaglebone/Angstrom-console-image-eglibc-ipk-v2012.05-beaglebone.rootfs.tar.bz2 onto the rootfs partition

Copied MLO-beaglebone-2011.09+git to the boot partition renamed MLO-beaglebone-2011.09+git to MLO
Copied u-boot-beaglebone-2011.09+git-r29.img to the boot partition renamed u-boot-beaglebone-2011.09+git-r29.img to u-boot.image
Copied uImage-3.2.23-r14h+gitr720e07b4c1f687b61b147b31c698cb6816d72f01-beaglebone-20120827193810.bin to the boot partition renamed uImage-3.2.23-r14h+gitr720e07b4c1f687b61b147b31c698cb6816d72f01-beaglebone-20120827193810.bin
 to uImage.bin

The first time it booted without any problems at all and I could login.
After a reboot I couldn't login anymore. All I got was this error:

login: Sat Jan 1 01:38:01 UTC 2000 on ttyO0Cannot make/remove an entry for the specified session

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Thanks in advance
flitjes

I had this same problem with the 2012.12 image that shipped with BeagleBone Black.
Then I upgraded to 2013.06.20.  It booted OK a few times, then I got the same error:
"Cannot make/remove an entry for the specified session"
And networking stopped working so I can't SSH in to fix it.
So I made a bootable SD card and booted off it so I could fix the eMMC linux partition according to the suggestions in this thread.
But none of the things in this thread exist in my system.  Not SQL, not alsa.

Now what?

Thanks,
 Jim
