I already checked serveral bacula lists with the same problem, but found no solution:
I tried it on 3 different Windows 7 Clients (32 & 64 bit) with latest winbareos release 12.4.4 and bareos-dir 12.4.4 on Debian Squeeze (6.0.7) to make a backup, but always got an error like this:
10-Jul 14:18 backup-dir JobId 31: Start Backup JobId 31, Job=BackupClient1.2013-07-10_14.18.22_04
10-Jul 14:18 backup-dir JobId 31: Using Device "FileStorage" to write.
10-Jul 14:18 backup-dir JobId 31: Fatal error: Unable to authenticate with File daemon at "192.168.0.154:9102". Possible causes:
Passwords or names not the same or

I checked the Firewall. Port is open. I also turnes the firewall off for testing. Still the same.
I checked passwords a lot of times, also changed to "123" for testing. Still the same problem!
I can connect via telnet. But "status client" from bconsole also shows connection error.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hello Pilipp,
YES - that was the problem! I didn't realize that the names had to be the same in the config files.
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Ivan
PS: I'm very happy to see that Bareos is going to "push" the Bacula project as independend fork!
