Hello everyone,

I'm happy to say RubyConf India 2011 is starting to shape up. Like
last year, it will be supported by RubyCentral and the ITT and the
organisation and logistics will be handled by ThoughtWorks India. For
regular updates, please follow @rubyconfindia on Twitter.

We are currently doing the basic set-up for the event, most
importantly finalising the dates. The proposed date is currently 29th
and 30th May, 2011. What we need to know is if this date conflicts
with another (Ruby or similar) conference or if it is inconvenient for
any other reason.

We're looking forward to your feedback so we can settle on suitable dates.

Thanks!
Sidu.

Hi Sidu,

29th and 30th May is falling on a Sunday and Monday... not on Saturday /
Sunday weekend... Please confirm...if the date is the same...

A quick correction - the dates are 28th and 29th May, not 29th and
30th (thanks Satish).

Just to confirm, it's going to be held in Bangalore. Correct?

Yup, that's right - this year's RubyConf will be in Bangalore, though
I dare say next year's will be in a different city.

Cheers,
Sidu.

Can we have some pre-conference hands on workshops for people new to Ruby?

That's a neat idea! It'll help lots of newbies gain more understanding from the conference. However, in order to prevent thread-jacking, Pradeep, could you spin this off as a separate post to the group?

Any idea when we'll be opening up registrations for this?
