This is with reference to the ‘Bangalore Cycle Day’ being organized by Yelahanka United   Environment Association®- YUVA in partnership with Directorate of Urban Land Transport, UDD, Government of Karnataka in Yelahanka New Town on 12th April 2015 Sunday morning starting from 6.30am onwards.


 We cordially invite you to join us for this event and request for active participation along with friends and family members for this environment friendly event being organized next to Allalasandra Lake in Yelahanka New Town, North Bangalore.
  1. Cycle day is being organized with the objective of popularizing cycling within the locality thereby helping in reducing motorized traffic, reduce pollution, reduce fuel consumption and improve health & fitness of the individual apart from creating awareness on the importance of conserving Lakes in Bengaluru city.
     
  2. The  event will commence with a cycle rally around the Allalasandra lake and main roads of Yelahanka New town (around 6.5 kms) followed by cultural events and traditional games for the children and families on the street. Light breakfast is arranged at the venue.
     
  3. Traditional games Chowka bhara, Kunte balle, Lagori, Marbles, Snake and ladder, top spinning, passing the ball, bombing the city, chess, gully cricket, badminton, volleyball, throw ball, Chess, blindfold and hit the target, balloon blast, slow cycle race will organized  on the 100ft street which will be blocked for traffic.
     
  4. Karnataka's rich janapada culture demonstration with the All women’s Dollu Kunitha, Veeragase and Huli vesha troupes will enthusiastically participate literally lifting the spirits and energy at the event.
     
  5. Street Magic show, dance programs by the local children, Fitness demonstration by SNAP Fitness, Cycle workshop by Sangam cycles, free basic health checkup, Taekwondo demonstration by kids of Ramu-RWF training centre,  slow cycle race, Slow motion dance by Mr.Chetan and troup and high end international bicycles display will be added attractions.
     
  6. Around 3000 cyclists, local citizens, Yelahanka MLA, Corporators are participating in the event from 6.30am to 10.30am.
      
  7.  Free cycle rentals will be also provided at the venue with original photo ID/school id as security deposit.
     
  8. Request you to kindly circulate the message and enclosed poster among your friends, groups and community.
