Stopping large numbers being in scientific format

Hello

thanks for such as useful gem -- its a real time-saver although I suspect I'm using a small fraction of its power as I only generate 'tabular' data....

My question is - I have a column than contains serial numbers which look like large numbers (e.g. 987000000100001010000) -- when the Excel doc is generated, these appear as '9.87E+20' -- how can I force a "text" format on these cells?
