Gypsy Jokers arrested at start of national run - FYI

More than 100 Gypsy Jokers bikies left their national headquarters in
Perth Monday on a five-day run believed to be a show of strength
intended to test West Australian police.
Less than two-and-a-half hours after beginning their national run, two
of the 109 bikies had been arrested, and a third man had been charged.
Police breath-tested the gang at Armadale - just 22km from the clubhouse
in suburban Maddington they had left at 9am.
Two men were charged with drink driving. A third was arrested on a warrant.
One hundred and six Gypsy Jokers passed the tests and headed for Albany,
409km south-west of Perth.
Police have vowed to monitor every step of the bikies' journey following
a tipoff earlier this month that they would converge on WA over the
holiday period to test police resources.
Police believed the bikies would put on a show of strength to support
arrested leader Lennard Kirby following a difficult year for the gang as
their relationship with WA officers reached an all-time low.
The relationship hit rock bottom in September after the murder of former
CIB chief Don Hancock and his friend in a car bomb blast.
Police believe the Gypsy Jokers carried out the bombing because they
blamed Mr Hancock for the death of a comrade.
Mr Hancock's murder is believed to be in revenge for the sniper-style
murder of Gypsy Joker William Grierson at the tiny Goldfields hamlet of
Ora Banda last year.
The past months have been difficult ones for the Gypsy Jokers gang.
Police investigations have resulted in the frequent questioning of
members and the arrest on drug charges of Kirby at his rural property on
the outskirts of Perth.
The gang's Perth and Kalgoorlie clubhouses have also been searched in
the probe.
A police spokeswoman said no incidents involving the gang had been
reported in the last few days since interstate Gypsy Jokers began
arriving by road and air.
But police would continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to the gang.
Members were likely to encounter several more roadblocks on their route
towards Albany, she warned.
The national run is expected to last for five days and include rides to
various country areas around the state.

Actually I think its very material that its the Jokers . There is a major
flare-up between the Police ( with the murder of that ex police officer ) &
the Jokers ( with the killing of a Joker ) and it appears that the GJ's blame
the police for the death of one of their members and the police think the GP's
killed that ex police officer.
