We are about to start doing the Tormach CNC classes!

Please reply on this thread, so I can get an idea of how many classes we need to schedule in December and January.

Like the CNC Router, there are two classes involved. One to learn how to create / plan your CNC tool paths in Autodesk 360, and output CNC G-Code that is compatible with the Tormach.

The second class is a hands-on safety and operations class for the Tormach itself.

Class duration and cost will be announced shortly.

Sincerely.
Martin

Hi Martin,

I am unfortunately not currently a member but a friend and myself are very interested. Will non-members be able to attend the class?

Mike,

Non-members can take the class, and will be added to the roster of "trained" people for the class for future reference. However, you won't be able to operate the Tormach until you're a current member in good standing.

Sincerely,
Martin

Martin I am interested in the CNC class as well. (FYI I am in a conference for the first week of Dec but I can be available anytime after that)

Status update:

I will be going through the class with Kris this Sunday, as a dry-run.   Once that's done, assuming no serious tweaks are needed to the handout or the class, I'll be putting the schedule up.

ALSO -- those people who have extensive Tormach experience who emailed me, will be contacted and scheduled for a check-out session with Kris and/or Brad.

Interested in just the Tormach itself.

Mark,

If you have extensive experience with 3D CAD->CAM for the Tormach and for general machining, you may be able to test out of the 1st class.  When the time comes, you will need to book a test-out class with Brad Selph who will make the call.

Sincerely,
Martin

I'm fairly experienced in milling in general, and with CNC milling, but not with the Tormach, specifically. I'm interested in the first available class.

Same here.  Have my own cnc's, and have done a good deal of brass/aluminum already.  I'm just needing to step up to steel.
