CNC hot wire foam cutting?

Has anyone ever mounted a hot wire bow to either the large CNC table, or even to one of the 3D printer x-y tables to do some hot wire foam cutting?

I need to cut some small (1") foam pieces.  Perhaps I can hack one of our out-of-commission 3D printers?
