Hey everyone,

I'm trying to clear some space, and one of the things I'm trying to get rid of is the transaxle assembly for a mobility scooter (note, scooter, not wheelchair).

something like this.

It's a nice beefy electric motor.  I have not verified if it works or not, but it looks to be in good shape.

Looks like these make some pretty cool go-karts.

Let me know if you want it.  I'd hate to put it out with the bulk trash but I have enough large motors at the moment.

I'd defiantly be interested in it. Let me know where I can pick it up.

Stand true against the mobility scooter oppressors! Defiantly has got to be one of my favorite incorrect autocorrects :D

Defiantly, I agree.

I have someone from the Robot Group that expressed interest first.  If he doesn't get back to me I'll go down the line in order.

I know that back when I was a member, there was one drifting around the hackerspace - does anyone know if it's still there?  Maybe someone here would be interested in it?

For an RC lawnmower, I would recommend using a differential steering mechanism vs rack and pinion.  That means a power wheelchair with two motors independently driven would be a much easier.  Plus you can get a nice off-the-shelf motor controller to drive it.
