Drones

Do we have a resident drone expert at the space? I'm looking to mess with a diy build and wanted to know if anyone has done or interested in making a custom one.

I know there are a few folks who talk drones on Thursday nights as part of the robot group.  I am personally interested as well.

Besides myself and the others who posted here, there are at least 3
other people with drone projects.

I think if you were to pick an afternoon for a drone build / fly, you
could get a number of people to show up to help you, show off their
own projects, etc.

Nice, I'll stop by Thursday with some questions. As for a drone fly day that's a great idea. I'd bring beer and food if people wanted to just get outside and fly these things.

This sounds like a great idea and I'm adding The Robot Group to the email. TRG folks, Mark was asking about drones and looking for folks with some experience there. I know Jarred is working on one and a few others have built or are building one of their own. I know the official meeting is down south this week, but if there are a couple drone builders who could come to ATXHS this week to talk to Mark that would be great.

There is an opportunity here for TRG. If there's enough interest we may be able to devote one of our weekly meetings each month to drones. Wolf, I know you're big on the safety and making sure things are done right so we don't contribute to those ruining the hobby for everyone else.
