astroML'ers,

Just beginning with the "Statistics,... in Astronomy" text. I'm a python beginner coming from Mathematica.

I'm getting errors on the first graphic examples from section A.6. runing the code found at

http://www.astroml.org/_downloads/fig_plotting_examples.py

When I run the code the graphics are produced, but also pages of warnings? errors? that I don't understand. The contents of the terminal window is attached. Can someone advise me please?

The setup is anaconda with the astroML libraries installed as directed in paragraph 2.2.1 of the web page seen at

http://www.astroml.org/user_guide/installation.html#important-links

on a 64 bit RHEL linux being run on an i7.

I've been successfully running codes written as ipython notebooks, and extracted as a pure python script. They are processing radio telescope data, and run for 10 hours without error.

Sorry for the false alarm. I don't have latex installed, I needed to change usetex = False. Now it works.
