This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

This position is in the Department of Radiology - Rad Sciences.  This position is for the Medical School Campus.

Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist investigators in the forefront of neuroimaging research. Support a web-based research data repository, helping faculty and staff by removing the technical hurdles involved in handling digital imaging data.  This job opportunity combines help desk support, documentation, training, and software testing with a chance for career growth into software development. Although imaging experience would be an asset, it is definitely not necessary.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Provides daily support for research data website including managing user ids, project configuration, uploading and downloading assistance, and issue troubleshooting.
  • Responds to user questions via help desk phone and email.
  • Evaluates, prioritizes, resolves problems and requests, or escalates to appropriate support areas.
  • Collaborates with higher level technical areas on planning and issue resolution.
  • Acts as the front-facing support liaison for support issues.
  • Creates documentation for help desk support wiki.
  • Leads small group training sessions.
  • Tests software upgrades and writes up issue and feature tickets for software development team.

 

Required Qualifications

High school or GED required. Minimum of two years experience in some aspect of the field of Information Technology required.  Certification or a degree in some aspect of Information Technology may also substitute for required experience on a year-for-basis.  


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot general internet and browser issues
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Some familiarity with scripting in Linux/UNIX

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $18.08 - $23.06 per hour.
