Sunday Night Arduino Classes

Popularity of the upcoming Arduino class is pretty high.  Currently 30 people have RSVPed.  Space is going to be at a premium for the labs after class.  Would everyone please keep this in mind over the next few Sundays and help reserve table space for the classes?  Sorry for the inconvenience,  just remember that having this many people to the space is a good problem to have!

Also, If anyone else wants to help with the class, that would be great too!

Good to know. I'm trying to convince a friend with no programming exposure to come, but it sounds like we may be at max. Do you think that it should be capped at some point/request more "instructors"?

don't really know our real max capacity. for this first class I bet
we could handle 45. if we do get that many, splitting the rest into 2
sessions might be an option.

we do have enough tables and chairs.

in the past they have been hard to locate, Gheo is the manufacturer
name (they are official Uno's) and they are in little blue folded
boxes, not plastic cases.

That's not too shabby of a deal. Do we have extras to resell for the class or will everyone need to get their own prior?

I'll send an e-mail as well, but my friend is on board. I'll attend, but probably sit out of the way and tinker.

the space doesn't have any to sell. if someone wants to pick up a
few, I don't think anyone would object to them selling them at or near
their cost.

Thanks Niels.  It's my own setup with lots of slides stolen from multiple sources and built on top of our past presentations.

Here's our topics for Sunday 7/13 at 7:00PM:

    Background of Arch Reactor

    Introduction to microcontrollers/Arduinos

    Make an Arduino talk to a computer

    Make an Arduino output a pulse

    Helpful References

    Break for Lab

This is the largest class we've had and most likely I'll need some configuration help on people systems.  It always seems like 2 or 3 users per class can't get things started.  Hopefully the LiveCD images will help with this.

I have a really long VGA cable and was thinking of putting the big TV
over where the bot is and running the cable over so the projector and
tv can have the same thing on them, making the seating in the
presentation area more useful.

do we still have any sort of mic setup?

I think I have a cheap microphone somewhere, and an XLR cable somewhere... Not the best setup, but it would be functional if we have a powered board. I could loan those out as an alternative.

I just dropped off another really old shure mixer on the donation shelves, so that might work. I have a few old wired Lavalier mics that might work too. bluetooth might be better, but we'll have to see about feedback.
