Visiting from out of town and would love to tour the space

A good start would be to check out the calendar (http://archreactor.org/calendar) and see if you're available to stop by at any of the events.  Otherwise feel free to post times you're available and people can chime in if they're available.

Hi Travis,

Is "Dixie Open House" at Arch Reactor? That timeslot (Monday at 6pm) would be perfect for me.  If not, what's "JUFF Tour" (Tues at 7)? I couldn't get there by 7, but if it's still going on at 8 I could do that.

While not Exciting the Business meeting is open to all.  Come early for General conversation.  the meeting is your standard "here's where we are with the move" stuff.  Stay after and enjoy more general conversation.

We are in the process now. we just voted on the new location a couple weeks ago.  work is ongoing at the new location to bring it up to a place where we can start full Build out.  if you are around for a weekend time period you will likely find folks there as well working.

Correction: Not exactly.  We are not moved into the new one yet, so you are going to want to visit the 2400 South Jefferson address. Bus routes do go past this location from the Metrolink, however.

If you are going to be here this weekend check out his Game Night at the Arch Reactor on Saturday. He is going to start after 12pm, and the gaming usually goes late into the night. He will have food available for a $5 donation, and you do not need to have ever played any of the games before. Very cool stuff.

Yup, I got that..  just looking forward to the convenience. The makerspace I'm a part of now (Pumping Station: One, in Chicago) has a great facility, but is a massive pain to get to.

A little off-topic, but if you are going to be moving here from Chicago, be advised having a car is almost a necessity. This city is spread out very much the way Chicago is, just without the same Public Transit infrastructure. I would say unless you are hardcore dedicated to revolving your life around bus and train schedules, you will want a car. Good news is that the snow and salt and are not nearly as bad.
