E: Version '2.2.0b3' for 'arangodb' was not found

Hi,

While installing arangodb 2.2.0b3, I got struk at "E: Version '2.2.0b3' for 'arangodb' was not found"

For the installation I followed below steps,

wget http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/Release.key

apt-key add - < Release.key

echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

apt-get update

At the below step, I got the above problem,

apt-get install arangodb=2.2.0b3

Could you please help me, why this error and how can I resolve it ?

When you execute

apt-get update

do you see a line like

Hit http://www.arangodb.org Release.gpg

Can you do a

cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

and send the output?

Again I did the same steps for installation, But I have not seen "Hit http://www.arangodb.org Release.gpg" on console, after "sudo apt-get update".

cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

cat: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list: No such file or directory

One more thing is I already installed mongodb 2.6.1 on the same system. And after doing sudo apt-get update, on the console I see the below lines...

Can you do a

echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

Does this gives an error message? If yes, can you post it? If not, can you try

apt-get update
apt-get install arangodb=2.2.0b3

again?

Thank you very much for investigating on this problem, Just now I have executed below command and got permission denied. Next used sudo , which is in red color below.

xxxxx$ echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

-bash: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list: Permission denied

xxxxx$ echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' > sudo /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

You need to put the sudo at the beginning

xxxxx$ sudo echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

I already used sudo at the beginning and I was getting below error, that is the reason I used sudo in front of the /etc ..

xxxxx$ sudo echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list

-bash: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list: Permission denied

Now I downloaded arangodb_2.2.0b3_amd64.deb and successfully installed using dpkg.

Sorry, the correct command is

sudo -s "echo 'deb http://www.arangodb.org/repositories/unstable/xUbuntu_12.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/arangodb.list"
