MarineTraffic and aprs.fi

I'm trying to fully understand how MarineTraffic shares information with aprs.fi. The reason I ask is that I don't see any ship information for the Port of Tauranga, whereas I do see info on MarineTraffic.

An example would be MMSI 995121001

Is there a process to get AIS from around the Port of Tauranga into aprs.fi?
