PHG should not be showing

For a long time, I beaconed my position plus PHG to RF on the local aprs channel. Recently, I stopped RF beaconing and began using Xastir direct to internet with the PHG disabled because I don't have a receiver connected and am i-gating nothing but my own beacons. But aprs.fi continues to show the old PHG and coverage area (km). To my mind it shouldn't do that, because it misleads observers into thinking I'm listening on RF. The aprs.fi code should delete the old PHG info if PHG info is no longer coming. Right, although, I should probably make aprs.fi store a timestamp for the
last time a PHG was received, and have them expire if it's not sent for
some time. A bit of additional storage space and code.

As described in the blog post, it can not be simply cleared immediately
when it's not present in the latest packet.

Thank you for drawing my attention to that. But the more elegant way to clear the old PHG is a change to the aprs.fi code. ZL1ANM
