Hi,

When I try to send emails with AppScale, rather than really sending out emails, it uses mail_stub.py to log some message out. In mail_stub.py 's comments, it seems that we should be able to really send out emails, but I'm really having some trouble finding documentations on how to do that.

If I want to send out emails, do I have to change AppScale's code to do that? Or are there some configuration files I can use?

Thanks!

Hi Huichao,

Application servers within AppScale use this script and msmtp to send email.
This is a configurable feature. By default no real email is sent out.

To switch that on, you'll need to change this debug variable to "N" and also put your msmtp configuration file in /root on all AppScale nodes running app servers.

Please reach out if you need help with any of that.

Thanks for using AppScale :)
