Rest versioning of resource(Terms of Service)

Hi,

        I am newly exploring the usage of a versioning feature( etag ? ) for showing the 'Terms of Service' whenever it is updated in the DB. If I request this resource in the workflow of the login process I can use the recommended Rest versioning method.

Can I see some implementation guideline for using etag for this ? Is some other way recommended ?.
