Java 8 comes with JavaFX 3D. It supports a subset of the VRML primitives.

IVL (http://www.ocnus.com/ivl.html) is a language for creating and manipulating VRML scenes.
The original implementation produces VRML via C++ and has a grammar.

A few years ago, the_antlr_guy kindly sent me the source code.

As an exercise in both ANTLR 4 and JavaFX, I have ported the grammar and am working on the rendering
using the example files from ocnus.com.

Best Wishes,
James
