Blue Light on car while on charger

What does it mean when you put a car on the charger and it has a blue light on instead of the usual green?

I am wondering if upgrades are "sticking" on this car. I just got Thermo and the first time I try to use it, the app says it needs to upgrade the car. It looks like it succeeds, but then it never lets me connect to it unless I turn the car off and back on.  Any ideas? Do I have a defetive car?

i have the same problem with NUKE- Car: lights blue when loading and never let connect after upgrading. If other cars are disconnetced, connection was established, but after connecting a second car, NUKE starts upgrading again...
Is there a solution for this problem, or has NUKE a technical problem and is defective?

My son is so upset- it's his 10th birthday today.  We gave him freewheel for his birthday (I don't think this is part of the problem) to add to his Starter kit. We are having the same issue as described above.  Updates are needed for skull- the app loads the update then won't connect and the process starts over again.  
Any help would be awesome.

What we've tried:
turning everything off and on
charging the cars fully
resetting our wifi
testing wifi speed
turned off and on our phones

I'm so sorry that happened! Please contact our Customer Care team (if you haven't done so already). Options and hours are posted here: support.anki.com. I know it doesn't help to hear this is a rare issue, when you're 10 years old, and I hope the rest of his birthday was better!

Did Anki ever tell you what was wrong with this car?  My kid just bought a used set and one of the cars is showing a steady blue light on the charger then dies as soon as its disconnected.  The app can't find the car at all.

Didn't find anything useful in this matter. I have the same 'old' problem with my new Ground Shock. Its happened just 3 hours ago...
Steady blue light on charger,  (instead of pulsatig or solid green)
steady green if I turn it on, (instead of pulsating green)
and can not activate the "Drone mod".
When I check with the app, I can see the car but if I choose it, the infinite cycle "firmware update" issue starts.

So i've picked up my toolkit, for a week working through the processors and its connections, i've found the problem. It was a connection/contact issue with the PCB optical track sensor/module and the printed circuit. When i pushed lightly the sensor to a circuit, its worked fine. So one or two of the connections seems not soldered properly. Its a manufacturing defect.
