Angular 2 CLI install fails with "peerinvalid" errors

Following the command found on cli.angluar.io: "npm install -g angular-cli", I get peerinvalid errors related to web...@2.1.0-beta.22, etc., shown below.


I don't understand either why they are occurring and/or how to fix them.  

Also, does it seem strange that they are occurring since I am following the exact install command that the Angular CLI page or am I doing something wrong?

Update: the problem was related to the version of node.js I had installed.  An uninstall of everything and an update of node.js to the latest version (6.6.0 at the time) solved the issue.

If you are using windows, run nodeJs as a administrator.
