Crashes during initial setup on an old notebook

Hello.
I am trying to run Android x86 7.1 rc1 32 bit on a old ASUS X51RL notebook (https://www.asus.com/Laptops/X51RL/specifications/) but, even on Live USB boot, and during the initial setup, i get a crash ("<appname> has stopped" message) when i try to choose a language and when i try to enter "Vision Settings"; also, when i try to shutdown the pc by pressing the power botton, a little "reboot" happens and the welcome screen reappears.
What could i try?

I tried the 4.4-r5 version and it worked :)
