incoming call ring tone routed to bluetooth a2dp

Hi Nick/others:

I found that the incoming call ring tone was always routed to
bluetooth a2dp in android 1.5, which i think it's supposed to be
played on local physical speaker. If the behavior is not right, do you
know what's going on and if there is any fix for this?

That is by design. If you are wearing headphones, you probably want to
be able to hear the phone ring.

Here is what is meant to happen:
A2DP + HFP headphones

Music player pauses
Ringtone plays on speaker
Incoming call notification sound plays in headphones (using HFP RING notification)

A2DP only

Music player pauses
Ringtone plays on speaker
Ringtone also plays through headphones via A2DP

Gets these transition done right is tricky and we do have a couple of compatibility issues in this area. If you can post a *detailed* report of what headphones you are using, which profiles you are connected to, and exactly what happens, to b.android.com, that would be appreciated and we will try and look into the issue for the next BT QA cycle.

Hello everyone.

I have similar issue I guess. I have a2dp speakers that can play any sound from the telephone but for some reason when the telephone starts ringing the sound goes ONLY through internal phone's speaker. The Bluetooth speaker is silent. I really need the ringtone to be heard via BT speaker. That is in fact the main reason i have installed BT dongle on my PC and paired then with telephone via a2dp so i can hear my phone ringing on my big audio system in multiroom when there is an incoming call. But there is silence on speaker!  Only the phone's internal speaker works during phone ringing...

I searched web quite a lot and found some nice application called SoundAbout. But it does NOT help. In the description its clearly said:

"Phone call audio to Bluetoth A2DP(media) NOT allowed in Android."

And the question is WHY?!
Shouldnt all sounds be played via BT speaker once they connected? Why ringer is excluded???
