about class in dex

dex has class_def_size and class_def_item to show classes in dex. But when i find method_def_item and trace the class these methods belong, i found there are more classes than class_def_size told me.

i try to analyze it, i found most of these redundant class are belong to andoird or java,but also include some third-part libraries classes.WHY?
