OpenMAX crashes NuPlayer (driver) on Samsung Note 4 Lollipop 5.01

Works fine on Note 4 with Kitkat 4.4 and S6 5.02.
Question for the group is anyone have a lot of luck using the Qualcomm IL driver SDK? I'm fantasizing about it being a path out of the NuPlayer crash.
