Hey everybody,

I'm new to Android programming, and I'm interested in utilizing the NDK, but when I try to follow the installation instructions I keep running into issues. The instructions clearly state that Eclipse is installed as part of the Android SDK, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on my computer. I know this is a stupid question, but I've tried everything I've found online, and am completely lost. Does anyone know where I should be looking?

If you want an IDE for Android Development then Android Studio is the way to go: https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html The NDK docs will be updated to refer to AS once 2.2 has been released to stable.

If you go that route, note that if you don't opt in to the preview build (2.2 RC) you'll need to use the Gradle Experimental plugin for building NDK libraries. With 2.2 you can use ndk-build or cmake though. 2.2 is pretty much stable at this point aiui (it normally moves from RC to released fairly quickly).

If you'd prefer a command line experience, those instructions are all up to date.
