NDK sample crashes (experimental Gradle plugin / preview Android Studio NDK support)

Hi guys, I have issue running NDK sample in Android Studio 1.3. It is from latest revision on Github (https://github.com/googlesamples), not bundled with NDK one.
This particular sample exists only on master branch, in which all samples' build scripts have been rewritten to use new Gradle experimental plugin (http://tools.android.com/tech-docs/new-build-system/gradle-experimental) and preview Android Studio NDK support (http://tools.android.com/tech-docs/android-ndk-preview).
Is there anyone familiar with this things? The sample builds correctly, but crashes on launch. I described it in detail in Github issue (https://github.com/googlesamples/android-ndk/issues/102) and tried to contact the author, but have not received response yet.
