Updates to Google Cloud Messaging

We have two updates for Google Cloud Messaging.

First of all, delivery receipts for CCS (MESSAGE_SENT_TO_DEVICE) has been improved.The delivery receipt is now sent when the device confirms it has received the message. For more information, please see the user documentation.

Secondly, to ensure a stable and consistent service for all users of Google Cloud Messaging, we will introduce a rate limit to the number of messages that can be sent per second / per device app. These controls will be put in place at the end of January 2015, and applications must be prepared to receive and manage rate limit exceptions by this time. We are introducing this limit to manage misbehaving apps that send unreasonable amounts of messages. And since the rate limit will be set high, most well behaving apps should not be affected. All apps should however be prepared to receive this error code, as a best practice.

What is the rate limit introduced? Is it dynamic or fixed? If fixed, can you please mention the number?

It will be in the low hundred per minute on a per app per device basis. This should not impact most well behaving apps, contact us if you think your app will be sending messages  to a device beyond this limit.

I am sending 10 downstream messages in a loop from node server but got topic_message_rate_exceeded for 8 messages and 2 sending message success.

could you please let me know what is happening? the app is in production and will cause lot trouble .
