SDK that sends push notifications

Hello,

I am writing an SDK that I want to deliver push notifications to. Is that possible?

Once I get a firebase token from the device via FirebaseInstanceIdService is it possible to register that token with our backend and then send messages to that particular firebase token, regardless of which application it's being sent to? (as the sdk may be in multiple applications).

yes. use FirebaseInstanceId.getInstance().getToken("your-project-number", "FCM");

This might change in the future but if you keep an eye on the release notes / javadoc

we will explain the changes required if any change is required.

More complex is receiving the message.

The app can have only 1 message receiver.

I suggest you document your customer to create a FirebaseMessaging receiver, and inside onMessageReceived(message) they can call a method like processMessageWithLibraryX(message).
