inconsistent service while sending push to iOS via GCM

Since yesterday we are seeing a lot of InternalServerError from GCM while sending push to iOS devices.

Any idea whats the root cause and how to resolve?

and the wierd thing is at times, it will deliver the notification to the device but it will still return the below error.
