Android emulator/vbox/hyper-v building

I am trying to create a build based off AOSP that runs on hyper-v.  I understand there is already a project called android-x86, but I am hoping there is already a way to build for x86 in AOSP, without needing all the support for the other devices.  I basically just want to build and customize a build specific for hyper-v.

What is the best way to go about this?

I see that there are generic_x86 and ranchu targets.  Would these be able to to run on hyper-v?
