Running current AOSP with an arm64 emulator

I've found instructions online for building AOSP for arm64, which work, but everything about actually running it on an emulator is from 2014 and seems to either refer to: a prebuilt emulator64-arm64 which no longer exists, or to a QEMU branch from Linaro which hasn't been updated since mid 2014.

Is anyone running an AOSP arm64 build in emulation? Ideally I'd like to run it in plain old qemu-system-aarch64, but an Android-tweaked emulator would be fine too.
