Hello -

I have a simple practice problem that runs well internally in AMPL that I would like to submit to the NEOS Server to get practice doing that, because I will need to submit my senior thesis to the Server later on.

I have attached my model, data, and run files. I am using the Cplex server in the NEOS Server, but am not sure that is the right choice of solver.

In the submission directions on the NEOS Server website, it says "the command file must not contain the model or data commands. The model and data files are renamed internally by NEOS." I don't understand what that means - do I replace the model and data commands in my run/command file with something? Or do I just delete them? I didn't know what to do so I just left my run file as it was when I ran it internally in AMPL.

When I submitted it to NEOS, I got this error:  Error (6) in /opt/ampl/ampl -R amplin. What does this mean? How do I fix it?

Thank you so much,

Can you let us know the operating system that you have been using?

Thanks,

You should delete the model and data statements from the beginning of the run file that you send to NEOS. The way that NEOS works is that first it reads your model file and your data file into AMPL, and then it tells AMPL to execute the statements in the run file.
