Hi everyone,

Been very busy with my Astronomy degree recently – not much time for observational astronomy.

Don’t forget Comet Catalina C/2013 US10 should be visible in the pre-dawn sky over the next few weeks. It is very low and still close to the Sun so is only visible after the sky is beginning to get light. It is below Venus at present. The good news it is getting higher in the sky and will be seen in darker skies but is getting dimmer. Around the 7th December it is close to Venus which is heading the opposite way closer to the Sun. Might make a nice conjunction though the difference in brightness ( the comet is around mag 6) will make it hard to get an exposure that will include both. Time for a logarithmic CCD or more realistically a composite image.

If you get some decent images share them with us.

Good Observing

John
