I wouldn't want to type out 100 titles either. That's why I keep a running list
in a Word file. The real purpose of the file is the part of the list that
details my wanted DVDs, so I can take a print-out to A&B Sound.

DVD is really an expensive habit. Sometimes I think I would have been better
off with smoking or something.

Greg if you want to make it much easier on yourself go to the link below to
download DVD Profiler. Its pretty good. It keeps track of the DVD's you
have, ordered or want.

DVD's are an expensive habit. In the last three months I've bought or
ordered (still on the way) 30 DVD's.

Hold on to your hats, folks...

I will cross the 500 plateau shortly. That is after giving 50 DVD's to
my brother and his kids and another 25 to my parents.

The collection goes from 12 Monkeys to Zero Effect. (I wanted a Z
title) Included are over 50 music titles and most of the box sets. I
can't wait till the end of next month. Woody Allen, Ken Burns Baseball
and the reissued Kubricks (not that they're worth anything more than
the original!)

I couldn't list my collection because I have about 330. (Yes I know I'm a
movie nut) :)

If you have (and like) the Weird Al Yankovic: The Videos, be sure to pick up
the new Weird Al: Live! It has his 10/2/99 concert he did in San Rafael, Ca
(my town!). Also included on the disk are his two other videos (that
weren't on his previous DVD) The Saga Begins and It's All About the
Pentiums. These videos even include commentary by the weird one himself!
The two "educational" films are great as well. Anyway, I just love this
DVD.

No, no, no. DVD may be a little pricey when it comes to habits, but it ain't
got nothin' on the laserdisc fix! If it makes you wince to think of all the
money you have invested in your collection now, just imagine all those discs
costing 60-80 bucks (or more) a pop! Thank goodness DVD came along to stop the
insanity. heh heh heh

Where did you get this? A&B Sound doesn't seem to have it, and I'm interested
in buying it.

I don't generally remember where I bought what, but dvdpricesearch.com
suggests that most places carry it. I'd say just go there and choose a
store with good terms for shipping to Canada.

Dude, that's cool! Can I do it, too? Can I copy the animated Vertigo gif?

I'd guess your question is asked because you think we might be wasting our cash
on shelf ornaments. You might be right, but here's my justifications.

I think for me the appeal of the collection is to be able to pick out a movie I
like without having to truck on to the video store. It gives it a certain
spontaneity. Also, I can invite a friend over and say 'pick out a film you like
or haven't seen'. I've only been buying DVDs since January, so it's a little
premature to classify my viewing habits. I'd bet that about half my titles are
films I'll want to watch once in awhile, another quarter are films that friends
will pick out, and another quarter will mostly collect dust.

I've got ~120 CDs I've collected thoughout my teenage years when I had little
spending money. While I don't listen to a lot of them, I can't think of many
I'd want to give away. While DVDs are currently a major part of my budget (I'm
a student), I'm sure it will be curtailed when I have most of my 'must have'
titles. When I'm down to 2-3 a month, it'll be insignificant.

I cannot, at this point, thing of anything I'd rather spend my money on.

(except maybe something good to watch my DVDs on)

Since I have about 1.50 a disc in my LD collection after a few buying
spurts, and getting lucky selling a few, I guess I am really a genius paying
$15 apiece for DVDs.
;-)
490 LDs 30 DVDs
