I don't think so as this was one of the scrambled ones.

Oh and there are a few copies of Agent out there as there are Oxygen phone manager that

Go to the link and see the email I received from Forte after
registering. It's a genuine key that I purchased by upgrading from
ver. 5.

Just for the sake of an argument can you tell me and everyone else WHY you want Forte to
go out of business and make a number of people unemployed and stop the development of
Agent.

Just an honest question and I would like an honest answer please.

Go to the link I provided to find it. They've abandoned their
customers. There won't BE another version. I've paid for upgrades for
10 years or so, and they took my money and ran.

No, I'm using the latest release. I've always used the latest release.
Forte's web site says, "If you upgrade today, you will also receive a
free upgrade to Agent 7.0 when it becomes available.", but there won't
BE a version 7.0. They only promise future upgrades to persuade their
customers to part with their cash. Version 6 was released in November
2009.

I don't think anyone is working on Agent. There was lots of "buzz"
leading to the release of v6, but there is not a glimmer of rumor
v7 is coming.

Does their support email address still get a reply?

Does anyone know for sure if development has stopped altogether?

Really - so you never look at the headers then to see what version people are using?

If you really are that clever then hit "H" and have a look and if you can read and see
what I am talking about then stop fucking things up.

As Nick said wrong again just look at the full header list by using the H key on the
keyboard to see what version is being used to post to this group.

Go to http://www.forteinc.com/release/index.php and see that only ver.
6 is available, the same version that's been available since November
2009. And besides, I would still give out my registration key for
version 6 even if version 28 was available. You don't like it, but

I still don't see the availability of version 7 there. Try directing
me to a page where I can download a genuine copy of ver. 7.
Otherwise, just keep pretending you're using it by munging the

I use a method in my software that does not depend on being able to
'phone home'. It is obvious to anyone who buys it but I won't be
explaining it on a Usenet group.

I need hex editor to modify the .exe file, and I don't have one on me
at the moment. However, should the urge to lie and fool people into
believing a lie become too great to resist, I find one and edit the
file.

No, only the promise of one along with a request that you part with
your cash in the hope of getting it cheaper by upgrading to the
current one, and that's just plain dishonesty on Forte's part.

Forte's web site says, "If you upgrade today, you will also receive a
free upgrade to Agent 7.0 when it becomes available.", but there won't
BE a version 7.0. They only promise future upgrades to persuade their
customers to part with their cash. Version 6 was released in November
2009.

Their dishonesty, and the dishonesty of Forte's shills here on this
newsgroup who munge their headers in an effort to dupe readers into
believing there is or will be future releases, allows me to publish my
serial key with a clean conscience.

Yes, it's clear, Several known members of Agent beta team decided to
modify their Agent's headers at the same time just to mislead potential
customers. You really are one clever boy to notice that, Derek!

Here's one:

<http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD>

You don't even have to install it; there's a portable version available.
Go ahead, change the X-Newsreader header to 8.0!

> >> Check the headers in
> >> this post to see my message ID.

> >Changing your message-id is easy...

> And honest.

Honest? In your case it's plain wrong because "Derek" isn't a domain
name.

<http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc850.html>

| In order to conform to RFC 822, the Message-ID must have
| the format
|
| "<" "unique" "@" "full domain name" ">"
|
| where "full domain name" is the full name of the host at
| which the article entered the network, including a domain
| that host is in, and unique is any string of printing
| ASCII characters, not including "<", ">", or "@".

I changed my message-id because I think 4ax.com is wrong according to
this RFC. Now the newsserver I use generates the message-id.
Unfortunately, Eternal September uses 'dont-email.me' as domain, which
is wrong as well. But there are servers who respect this RFC...

Sorry to say that I am sworn to secrecy as are many people here.

The golden rule is "ENGAGE BRAIN BEFORE OPENING MOUTH" or a smack in the mouth often
offends.

I now expect Forte to alter all serial codes for v7 and not to issue one to you. After all
you have enabled the theft of several hundred or maybe thousands of copies of Agent v6.
Perhaps Forte should send you the bill for a nominal 1000 copies of Agent v6.

I bet it does not include a horizontal scroll bar or any other way to

That's a different statement in a different post to the one I was
referring to. You knew that. It's patently clear that version 6 is the
latest and last release, and that the posters who seem to be posting
from a newer version are modifying the "X-Newsreader" part in their
headers to give the impression they're using a newer version.

Indeed I did, which is why I gave a messageID so you could find it and
see that Nick thinks you are completely wrong about Forte not
releasing a new version.

You respected his opinion when you thought it matched yours, but not
when it says otherwise.

For what reason is this "patently clear"?

>Yes, of course.

"of course"? You give away license keys and encourage others to use
them to steal software for the specific reason that you believe there
will be no later versions; then a later version appears, and "of
course" you have a clean conscience? I boggle.

It's lucky this is merely about software and money, or I'd have to
consider of you as actively amoral rather than merely ethically
challenged.

Yes, fake, so stop lying. I'm using version 9 now. Check my headers.

Then you're a self-confessed deliberate liar, Nickie. Like I said
above, "Their dishonesty, and the dishonesty of Forte's shills here
[including Nickie] on this newsgroup who munge their headers in an
effort to dupe readers into believing there is or will be future
releases, allows me to publish my serial key with a clean conscience."
Check my headers to see what version Agent has given me to test for
them.

It shows that it can be done, even though all you shills here
pretended it couldn't and hadn't, so I've every reason to believe
you're still lying about future releases of Agent. Nice try, but not

Agent 7 isn't available, and it isn't being tested for release, so
don't try to lie yourself off the hook with that garbage. You
unethically faked your headers to give the impression version 7 was
released or about to be released, and when caught out you tried to lie
your way off the hook. Poor effort.

You're right, somebody seems even more stupid. C'mon, give it up. You made
twice a mistake: bad choice and worst timing, right now that a new version is
in the oven. Now don't do a third one, this denial is ridiculous.

I don't believe you because you've lied and lied again on this issue.
Your headers say you're using version 7 while only version 6 is
available. You've deliberately edited your .exe file to modify the
headers to give readers here the impression version 7 was being tested
for release, knowing full well that version 6 is the latest and last
release. You lied, and you admitted it. Why didn't you tell the truth?

I pretended no such thing, and your statement speaks poorly of your
reading comprehension.

I said *I* have never faked my headers. I have been aware for well
over a decade that it's possible to do so - hex-editing the raw binary
is a very simple thing.

I am a beta tester for AVG software and I am using a version that cannot be bought yet but
does that mean that I am lying or the software doesn't exist yet?

It exists because I am using the BETA version of AVG Internet Security it doesn't exist
for mainstream punters that would like to buy it as I can honestly say there are a few
problems such as the "Personal Identity" section is not always enabled when AVG loads and
sometimes needs a kick and the Firewall is a bit sluggish to load at times especially when
it's fighting for resources against some of M$ stuff that wants to load.

So believe what you want to believe as the Catholics, Muslims, Jews and Other mainstream
religions do but hey, don't say people are lying or dismiss what may be real without real
proof.

Nope, I'm definitely using version 9.00/32.9999 as you can see by my
headers. Like you and several others here, I'm beta-testing a newer
version of Agent before it becomes available for general release in a

Right, it doesn't exist. But how can you be so sure that it never
will? Even if Forté has no intent of producing it now, isn't it always
possible that situations can change and they can change their minds.
Or that some other company buys Forté and the new company wants to
produce a new version?

Bear in mind that I'm not really disagreeing with what you say. I
don't think it ever will either. I just think your statement is too
strong.
