Is their any variety of Englsih where that pronunciation occurs?

Saludos,
Manolo.
What happened to /&pl-/ ?
Roy (getting to grips with this ASCII-IPA thingy)
Is their any variety of Englsih where that pronunciation occurs?
Not that i know of, but some USAns do tend to say /'&prIk@ts/ instead of
/'eIprIk@ts/. Perhaps that is where the confusion arose.

Yep, there is.
Although it is dying out, the pronunciation /eipl/ is used in Central
Scotland to my certain knowledge. My grandmother would pronounce
*washing an apple* as /w&Sn @n epl/ the last sound /l/ is very dark.
The /e/ sound in apple is hardly diphthongised, if at all.

I don't know anyone who pronounces the last syllable as a schwa - I say
/'&pr@,kAts/ and other folks say /'epr@,kAts/.
