How can you say that? I watch "The Understudy" and laugh till I puke!
When Jerry said the heckler called him Gilooly? Frank talking about
his foot odor problem? Elaine meeting J. Peterman for the first time?
In terms of historical significance alone, this is a great episode.

If you didn't like this one, you may as well not like the rest.

When I see Bette Midler I puke til I laugh.

See?! Even the worst Seinfeld can make me laugh, even if it takes
involuntary abdominal spasms and resulting regurgitation to do it!

I'd forgotten about the good parts of the episode - the whiny woman
just grates on my nerves.

Tell you what - I'll go watch it as soon as I finish up on here. I'll

personally I thought The Muffin Tops was one of the best episodes this
year, with The Chicken Roaster among others.

Thought the first show this season, The Foundation, was stupid. And we
could have had a better ending in The Summer of George, but it was pretty
funny nevertheless.

Here's my list of shows I could live without

1. The Limo
2. The Airport
3. definitely The Understudy
4. The Movie, my least favorite one

There were some pretty shabby episodes this season(Van Buren Boys,
Fatigues, Foundation), but none can compare with my all-time
stinker---"The Doll".

1. Oh come on, The Limo was classic! Jerry pathetically trying to be Irish!
2. Ok maybe the airport wasn't the best but you gotta love the scene where
Elaine screams, "they've got cookies!" and when Kramer accuses George or

Viewing this thread a lot of people are citing
episodes from last season and the Bette Midler
episode. IMHO, these opinions are absurd.
The scene where Kramer lip syncs "the Wind
Beneath My Wings" is great in and of itself.
Also, I'm finding that last season's episodes
play much better the second time.

The worst Seinfeld episodes are the very early
ones. In particular, the one where the holistic
healer makes George get under the pyramid is
flat out awful. It might as well be a Caroline
in the City.

A random favorite episode would be the one with
Sid Fields.

Not everybody can tell what episodes these are using just the

The Muffin Tops - agree, although I didn't know until after the show about
the bus tour being a take-off on a real one - that might have made it
marginally funnier.

I don't know if The Susan is the one where she dies from licking stamps,
but that premise was a little too dark for me.

I found the Parking Garage and the Chinese Restaurant mostly frustrating
because those experiences *are* irritating even tho each show did have some
funny moments.

The only other one I did not like was where Elaine and Newman are going to
*off* the barking dog. They can pick on any group of people as long as one
isn't consistantly singled out, but when the show is mean to dogs that is
going too far! <g>

Interesting side note. They named the old man 'Sid Fields' in
homage to Abbott & Costello. Sid Fields was their landlord's
name.

Worst episode for me is the parking garage...it always seems that they
are showing that one in syndication....Mildly amusing the first time but
the 2nd time on it is excruciatingly painful...Love the limo...think it
is one of the most underrated episodes...with George getting turned on
by the Nazi?...thats Gold Jerry!

Sorry for the use of the official titles. That's how I sort them out
myself. It seems to make the most sense. If you want to keep up with this
system, get yourself an episode list (there's about a million circulating
around the Internet).

All of the above episodes, however, were from this last season. IMHO, they
were all lacking the quailty had by their predecessors.

I thought that was a very funny episode. I'll never forget the scene where
Jerry is pretending to suffocate George in hospital with the pillow when
Elaine walks in. Jerry then says in a very surprised (but fake)
voice "Elaine, what are...(pause) YOU doing here". Just cracked me up.

Just goes to show, everyone has different tastes.

Apparently Mystrylane has a problem with last season? I loved the

the closure of the older episodes. Maybe this season will be better.

Really? I find that I've enjoyed episodes from the last 2 seasons
more than any other ones..! The writing in the Chicken Roaster, for
example, was unbelievable (in my humble opinion, of course). The
whole scene when Elaine is trying to explain the "business" uses for
the things she bought (like the water pick).... the scene where Jerry
confronts Newman in the Kenny Rogers restaurant... the scene where
Kramer suggests Jerry and he switch apartments... the scene where
Jerry turns into Kramer (kinda)... and of course, "Buy Mennen.." =
"Co...stanza!"

Ahh!

THe parking garage episode is by far the worst Seinfeld show ever. It is
boring from the beginning and continues to get worse as the show
progresses. Definately not the quality comidy that seinfeld fan have

As if there's a litmus test for the worst episode. It's all subjective,

The Susie episode and the muffin tops were by far one of the best this
season!

you are of being told how bored to death you are of being bored to death
of...

Man O Man, how many times are people going to post about how boring it
is to read boring posts? These posts are *boring*.

The vast majority of ATS readers are bored to death of being told how
bored to death they are of being bored to death. I'm certainly not, but
I'm bored to death of being told that I *am*.

You are absolutely right. And what's the solution?

Wouldn't it be cool to simply say, "Check the FAQ."
and be done with it?

I'd help out with it, but I don't have the time to compile it.

Oh yeah...even a bad Seinfeld is way better than an above mediocre
Suddenly Susan or Men Behaving Badly.

To me, when I see and episode for the FIRST TIME.... it's the worst! I
have to wait until it comes around again... and magically I appreciate
it!

Does anyone else experience this?

My theory is that when i see an episode for the first time, I put too
much pressure on "it" for it to be great. Naturally it can't live up
to this expectation.

When I see it again, the pressure is off.
