I don't watch the series. I wonder if Muslims might take offence? She doesn't wear a burqa and freely associates with males she is not related to.

Will she be shown taking time out for the five daily prayers? Will she be shown fasting during Ramadan?

Actually, DC is following in Marvel's path, which introduced a teenage superhero Pakistani-American girl about four years ago: Ms Marvel, taking the name of an earlier character with that same name.

Does pray fives a day? Fast during Ramadan? What is her interaction with male characters?

Average high school girl in America. Don't know the character but gather she is american culturally. But seems as religious as most other kids. Whether she follows all the rules don't know the importance of that or how it matters do you care if all the Christian superheroes are strict adherents or not.

Sure she prays and fasts. She also fangirls Peter Parker in his Spider-Man guise and ships him and Captain Marvel because they're her favourite superheroes.

Actually she just turned up in something I got from the library. This is her talking to Miles Morales.

Talking about a comic book hero? Just like Superman once fought nazis, surely she'd travel to Afghanistan to help the US put things right. Once there she'd run into the Taleban and they'd do to her what they did to so many others. Or maybe just execute her in the soccer stadium. That's their reality. I'll take my strange fantasies (how did you guess?) over that reality any day.

Why? It's not like the United States needs extra muscle.

(Even among those cases where it clearly had jurisdiction, a close look at the DoD’s own stats reveals a far from stellar record: among the 684 sexual assault complaints lodged by US soldiers in the Middle East, only eighty-three cases have led to courts-martial. Meanwhile, last year alone, 2,688 sexual assaults were reported globally against women serving in the US Armed Forces; disposition of these cases is pending.

Won't stop the taleban from trying to do her in though. Maybe she can try on ISIS and be sold as a sex slave?

I'd say one would be too common, but they're more common than that.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2016/06/09/honor-killings-united-nations-pakistan/85642786/
"The Department of Justice estimated in its 2014 report that based on U.S. demographics, 23 to 27 honor killings occur in the country each year."
But take some comfort from that fact that it's just an estimate.

The comics tend to prefer super villains and aliens as opposed to the real thing. I doubt Marvel would involve Ms Marvel with the Taliban or ISIS as it would draw too much attention to the publisher.

Elasticity, and size change. When she grows any part of herself that part gets strong. She can shrink to smaller than a mouse. Her elastic form is self-repairing.

Also correction, she doesn't technically live in New York. She lives in adjacent Jersey City.

That depends on how elastic she is. If she's really stretchy she could probably appear to be in several places at once.
