Alison has has to be one of the most jinxed actresses in television.
She's been the touch of death to nearly every show she's been on.

Okay, two of those shows have "starred" Tom Arnold, but I still hope
she doesn't become a recurring character, just to be safe.

Let me just add that the first half of DMP was the scariest bit
o'Buffy ever, simply because it's all real (or nearly so). No
retreating behind the whole fantasy thing.

the horror, the horror...

oh, sorry, I'll be okay, really...

Giles: I can't believe you served Buffy that beer.
Xander: I didn't know it was evil.
G: You knew it was beer.
X: Well, excuse me, Mr. "I spent the 60's in an electric-
kool-aid funky-Satan groove."
G: It was the early 70's, and you should know better.

Didn't "The John Larroquette Show" run about four years? Didn't Alison get her
own spinoff from "Duet" because of the popularity of her character? Not exactly
the touch of death.

Where was she in this episode? Did you think she was the manager who replaced
Manny? That wasn't Alison.

It was mind-numbingly boring, so whether it was realistic or not didn't make a
big difference.

I think the new manager was played by Kirsten Nelson, not Alison LaPlaca.
Very similar voice though!
I found it amusing that "Manny the Manager" was played by Brent Hinkley
("Rick the Manager" of Whammyburger in "Falling Down").

Are you thinking that Alison was the actress playing Buffy's new manager at the
end? Well, it wasn't her. You're probably expecting me to tell you who she
was then. And while she's very familiar, I can't remember her name (someone
here will know it). But I've seen ALP enough to know that it's not her.

My opinions might have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

The only Kristen Nelson listed in IMDB would be 56 years old. Are you sure that
was her?

Whoever she was, I liked that character. I hope they bring her back. Maybe she
could stumble into a monster problem and motivate the gang into not being so
mopey all the time.

And it's still up for validation -- I couldn't find any solid evidence other
than ruling out the credited guest stars one by one.

Thanks for finding that. This Kirsten would be the right age, so it probably is
her.

I think you're right, checking the IMDB link, that Kirsten Nelson played
the young Mrs. Landingham in the season finale of The West Wing last
year, which explains why I found her familiar.

I thought Lorraine sounded like Ellen DeGeneres, (I know she isn't) and
she got that same "I'm still smiling, but I really don't want to be
smiling" look on her face when Buffy mentioned the vegies in the
"meat".
