A source, reliable about 50 percent of the time, passed this along to me
in a email tonight. Figured I'd pass it on to you. Take it with as much
salt as it might require.

Cloris Leachman
Misty May-Treanor
Toni Braxton
Warren Sapp
Maurice Greene
Kim Kardashian
Cody Linley
Susan Lucci
Ted McGinley
Mark McGrath
Jeff Ross
Lance Bass
Brooke Burke

I hope we can all be good neighbors online!

Now THAT would be entertaining!

(Who are Cody Linley and Jeff Ross?)

Cloris Leachman is 82 years old. While she looks great for her age, I
can't imagine her body is remotely close to the challenge of doing
this show.

Well, that does it. Adding Ted McGinley to the cast of any show is
jumping the shark per se. Look it up! :)

I'm somewhat surprised Misty May-Treanor is on the list. She just won the
gold medal in China and has stated she wants to take some time off to start
a family. Wouldn't mind seeing her in the skimpy outfits, that's for sure.

I'm happy to see Brooke Burke on any list where I get to see Brooke Burke.

Leachman and May-Treanor are the two that I would be most surprised

Her claim to fame is a good PR agent, a sex tape, a savvy

She's a slightly smarter version of Paris Hilton.

No, it's the cartoon factor I enjoy. Nothing gay whatsoever. I don't

No offense meant, greg and apologies offered with respect and
friendship. I was going to "cram you into that cubbyhole" with a joke
about gay guys having sufficient high income to have the best looking
cars before I read your comment, but I guess that's out now.

As for catagorizing me as a Republican.....isn't that almost a given,

I never said anything about categorizations; rather, generalizations,
which you know I always take offense to. See above, please. If you fit
all of your stereotypes as a Republican, well then good on ya, I
guess?

I pretty much dance to the beat of my own drum, leaving open the

That, apparently, is one of our major points of diversion.

Greg, I hate fishing and have for years. All kidding aside, I prefer my
fish to be: freshly caught, cleaned and readied as much as possible by
our local fishmonger.

Seriously, I was going to say (in humor but seriously) if you knew how
many married guys with kids wished that they were able to have the
freedom to get a car like you were able to purchase. It's not a
function of being gay, it's a function of being single and without the
responsibilities of a spouse and kids as well as having the kind of
decent job to provide the necessary income.

Greg, again I'm sorry. There's a couple of handfuls of folks in this ng
that I feel I can kid around with, pretty much with little restraint,
and not worry about how they (not others) will take what I've said. I'm
categorized/generalized whatever by them (who I know are kidding) and
others (who I know are not) as however they all define "Republican."
The difference is that with those handfuls, I know nothing is meant to
be mean spirited. You're in that group for me, and you've been in it
from pretty much the first couple of times we've posted to each other.
You're the kind of person I'd like to have as a next door neighbor which
is my highest compliment.

Thank you, Bob. I really don't mind a little kidding, I'm not the
stuffed shirt type, but I truly abhor people making assumptions about
me, my likes/dislikes and whatnot based upon tired, old stereotypes
and generalizations based solely upon my sexual orientation, which is
only a small part of who I am. It's really not fair to me.

I know you meant no malice, but if we're gonna live in the same 'hood,
it's important to me that you know me well and what pushes my buttons.

I appreciate your words, they certainly appear heartfelt to me, so the
way I see it, tomorrow is another day. 'nuff said. I'm not a grudge

At 55, not so good an idea. I came close to fatherhood twice before,
getting two girls preggers. One ended with an abortion (we were
babies ourselves at 18) and the other ended sadly in a miscarriage
when I was in my late 20's. My bisexuality was common knowledge,
wasn't an issue and we were very much in love. I've always been a
monogamous partner with whomever I date. People sometimes have a hard
time understanding bisexuality, assuming all sorts of things. Someone
once asked me, "Do you need to have one of each?"

I wonder what would have been sometimes if that baby was born. That
lovely lady and I remain extremely close friends and she still brings
joy to my life (well, not in THAT way anymore!!).

Man, the direction our threads (and lives) turn around here ;-)

You know - when you mentioned Jayne Mansfield I had a feeling it was
the "cartoon factor" you enjoyed. Tho she was a bit before my time in
real life she is someone who I can kind of see getting a kick out of -
she almost seemed larger than life. But nowadays either these new
woman - Kardashian and Hilton - just don't have "it" or maybe the
times have just changed and it doesn't seem to fit anymore - well, at
least for me. Pam Anderson is one that kinda comes close (in a way) to
the cartoon character persona - do you like her too?

Yeah, Pam has that blonde bombshell thing goin' on and is actually,
strikingly similar to Mansfield now that you mention it, but no, I
have no interest in her. She's kinda skanky to me.

She is a *cough, cough* actress, where the others were/are just plain
old publicity whore-cartoons, although Jayne did a movie or two (The
Girl Can't Help It by Little Richard is coming to mind).

This is quintessential Mansfield (w/Loren):

And boy do you bring up a good point - isn't it amazing how we always
think the grass is greener on the other size - until we hear from the
other side!!!!

And thanks for stating this, 'greg. I am the proud parent of a gay
son, have a gay sister and a close family friend who's gay. I have
long been discouraged by people in the world who clump people into any
kind of sterotype but I'm especially sensitive in this area. I have
always considered myself one of the lucky ones in that I basically
grew up or am growing up with these wonderful people in my life and I
can attest first hand that none of them are stereotypical of the other
or of "all gays" any more than I am sterotypical of all aging white
woman :::::shudder::::::. They are just regular people and they do
what they do and should be given the same respect, dignity and
recognition as all of us.

Yes - I think you're right Zob. Rumors were floating around many
months ago that Florence might be on the show next season. I think
she'd be a good fit.

Not to get too personal - and you certainly don't have to answer,
'greg. At this stage of your life has the desire to have children left
you or is it something you still think or wish for? Or is it more the
"what if" factor? I know my son has fleeting mentioned possible
adopting somewhere in his life but don't know how much he thinks of it
at this stage. He's almost 29 and is pretty career-oriented at the
moment.

All of the above! I think seeing a fourth generation evolve now in my
family and watching my nieces and nephews become loving parents has
recently resurrected it. I adore them and their children. I don't do
much "what-iffing" with my life. I tend to look forward, mostly. Very
few regrets, here. Kinda pointless, anyway.

I think all of our biological clocks are set to about the same age
schedule when it comes to procreation. By the time I was about 45, I
looked up from building my career and saw that the baby window had
pretty much passed. Relationships have never come easily to me and I
would never consider raising a child, as a man, alone. I see the
sacrifices couples make and can't even begin to fathom doing it alone.

It takes a strong person to raise a child alone. If you don't have the
support of a spouse or significant other then I think it's very
important to have strong/good family and friends.
My ex-husband wasn't a great support as "dad". He was faithful in his
child support payments and for that I always give him credit. But
unfortunately he was/is lacking that Ward Cleaver gene. I did the best
I could as a "single" parent and did have help from my family
(sometimes even when I didn't ask for or want it, much to my dismay)
but it is definately the hardest job I had and the one I loved the
most.

Greg, I almost got whiplash from that thread direction switch. :) I do wish

guys, it really isn't too late.
